Our history

HMB Formenbau GmbH originated in 1982 when the company HESS machine plant divided mold construction as its own company. Under the name HMB Maschinenbau an independent company was domiciled in Bad Laasphe that over the years developed into an established mold manufacturer for the concrete industry.

In addition to the initial equipment of plants to produce concrete components by the HESS company, sales activities for existing companies were also performed by the locally based HESS companies as well as by representatives for all machine manufacturers.

In 2003 a transformation to mold production occurred in which instead of smelted forms milled and then hardened mold sets became standard. Correspondingly HMB built a modern machine park with CNC milling machines. Coupled with the experience of employees qualified for years in the welding plant, the mechanical manufacture and in construction tried and tested molds for all types of concrete and all machine types and the most varied of machine brands were manufactured, also in accordance with the instructions of individual customers.

In the scope of the succession and the sale of the HESS Group to TOP WERK GmbH in 2013, HMB Formenbau GmbH was created from the former company.

In 2015 qualified engineer and business administrator Friedrich Krombach as former managing director of the HESS Group GmbH bought the company HMB Formenbau and since 1 October has been acting as the directing shareholder. HMB Formenbau GmbH has since then been operating independently in sales, the construction and manufacture of concrete molds.

Our goals

Through a strengthened own sales force with direct customer contact and the focussing of investments in the optimisation of the production of concrete molds a further strengthening of the brand HMB will follow. With the know-how of 30 experienced and highly motivated employees, HMB Formenbau has set itself the aim to produce high quality concrete molds made in Germany with adherence to agreed delivery dates.
